Growing up, my parents encouraged my siblings and me (all eight of us!) to use our strengths to help others. Write Now! is proof that I listened.
I’m a storyteller; my strength is writing. I wrote the book because I met tons of high school seniors who had stories to tell, but just couldn’t tell them in the way they wanted. I also wrote the book because I know there are thousands of college counselors across the country who work hard to assist students–and who might benefit from one more practical resource.
But there’s more to the story (of course!). I know how challenging it can be for students and their families–and how overwhelming the college application process can be. For those who don’t have the extra resources to devote to college prep courses, counselors and more, the process can be downright daunting. In honor of those rising seniors, I’ve adopted the Tom’s Shoe model of give back–for every book sold, I’m committed to donating a copy of Write Now! to an individual (or institution) who can use it.
Know of a teen, counselor, school or foundation that might benefit from a free copy (or copies)?
